Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the status and challenges faced by superintendents in government Ashram schools, which play a critical role in promoting education among marginalized communities in India. Through qualitative and quantitative research methods, including surveys and interviews with superintendents and educational authorities, the research identifies key challenges such as administrative burdens, lack of resources, inadequate training, and socio-political pressures. The findings highlight the essential role superintendents play in ensuring effective school management and student outcomes while also emphasizing the need for enhanced support systems and policy interventions. This study contributes to the discourse on educational governance and offers practical recommendations for improving the operational environment of superintendents in Ashram schools.
