Abstract

Primary amines containing carbonyl groups condense to form Schiff bases, which are adaptable ligands. Because of their diverse range of biological activity, these chemicals are highly significant in the domains of medicine and pharmacology. The majority of them exhibit biological properties like antifungal, antibacterial, and anticancer action. Numerous studies have been conducted on transition metal complexes having biological activity that are generated from Schiff base ligands. The synthesis and biological activity of Schiff bases and their transition complexes are summed up here.
